With the decision of the Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin on direct admission to permanent employment, military health system was reinforced by 243 persons, who were handed a decision on admission to service on full time contract basis at a ceremony held at the Military Medical Academy.

- Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vucic ordered the restoration of military health care, not just by purchasing the equipment, but first and foremost by investment in people working in the military healthcare sphere. Never in the modern history of Serbia, in the modern history of our military healthcare, has such mass admission in permanent service been carried out. It is significant for us that this year more than 400 people have started permanent employment in various areas of military healthcare. For that reason, our patients will be better cared for – said Minister Vulin, and added that this is why all employees in military healthcare also have the right to be cared for, taken care of and to have their future secured.

Pointing out that military health care is a trusted system, Minister Vulin also emphasized that patients coming to military healthcare institutions, whether they are military personnel or civilians, can rest assured that they will receive the best possible care, that they will be examined with the application of the best possible equipment and that the best people will take care of them.

Admission of employees on permanent contract basis is, according to Minister Vulin, a way to show employees appreciation for the patience and perseverance they have demonstrated in their work, waiting to be employed, but also proof that things are going better in Serbia.

Head of the Military Healthcare Department, Brigadier General Ugljesa Jovicic, MD, PhD pointed out that this is a historic year for the military healthcare.

- This year we are celebrating 180 years of military healthcare and we are especially proud because this is a historic year for us, in which more than 400 people have been admitted to work in military healthcare institutions, both medical and non-medical personnel. In this way, we were also able to additionally staff the Nis Military Hospital, the Novi Sad Military Hospital, the Center for Military Medical Institutions in Belgrade and the Military Medical Academy – said General Jovicic.

He added that personnel reinforcement is the end result of the improvement of military health care, which is also reflected in the procurement of equipment and infrastructural renovation of parts of the Military Hospital Nis and parts of the Military Medical Academy.

According to the Head of the Military Medical Academy, Colonel Prof. Miroslav Vukosavljevic, MD, PhD the admission of staff on permanent contract basis is in fact an indication of the concern and care of the Ministry of Defence, the Serbian Armed Forces and the Military Medical Academy about all patients coming for treatment, both to the Military Medical Academy and other military healthcare institutions.

- Today, 234 persons, mainly medical, and partly auxiliary staff necessary for the care of all our patients have been admitted to the Military Medical Academy on permanent contract basis – said Colonel Prof. Vukosavljevic.

On behalf of all who were presented with a permanent employment contract today, Zeljka Vasilic addressed the assembly. She stressed that she was happy to become a full-time employee because, as she said, “having a secure job nowadays is really important and is of particular importance when it comes to the financial stability of families.”
Being in the ranks of the Military Medical Academy is seen by Marko Brkic as an exceptional honor, but also an obligation. After completing his specialization in Maxillofacial Surgery at the Military Medical Academy, he considers admission to service on permanent contract basis at that institution as the first step towards his further professional development and achieving goals in the future.

Prior to admission to permanent employment, Aleksandra Gvozdenovic has worked part-time at the Institute of Radiology of the Military Medical Academy for three years. She points out that today is special for her and that she is very happy that she will continue to be a part of that military healthcare institution.
